Inspired by the wondrous tones of Lake Natron, in Tanzania - the extraordinary pink lake and surrounding wetland make up such a beautiful colour palette. I carefully placed different strands of viscose yarn, then knitted them to create this one-of-a-kind wall hanging.
Placing the colours, knitting and then hand sewing, over two days, were all very meditative processes and I hope it brings a sense of calm to the viewer.

Knitted nylon/viscose yarn, with viscose fringing, hanging from an oak dowel.

The oak dowel is 120cm long, 2.1cm diameter.
The textile hanging is 102cm width, 112cm height.
