70cm diameter, 1cm depth

This colour hoop explores colour, inspired by pictures of the Anti-Atlas mountains in Morocco, taken by Nasa. The mountains formed as a result of the African and Eurasian tectonic plates colliding around 80 million years ago. I was drawn towards the wonderful variety of colours found in the limestone, sandstone, claystone and gypsum layers.

Knitted viscose sewn around a wooden hoop, 70cm diameter.
The strands are made from viscose.
